Summaries are being written for each training package qualification.
They capture the key facets of the employability skills that are
important to the job roles covered by the qualification.
Summaries are designed to assist teachers to identify and include the
important industry aspects of employability skills in learning and
assessment strategies.
Students should be aware of the Employability Skills Summary for
their qualification. DEEWR has developed a national website where
Summaries can be downloaded. From July 2008 all students receiving
Training Package Qualifications should be made aware of this website.
From 1 January 2009 the following link will be include on all testamurs
for training package qualifications:

Teachers should use the Employability Skills Summaries to:
- identify how each skill is applicable to the job roles covered
by the qualification.
- assist in developing teaching and assessment strategies
- assist students to understand industry and workplace
expectations
- help students gather evidence of their employability skills
Remember that the Employability Skills Summaries are not exhaustive
lists of qualification requirements or assessment checklists of
performance. As employability skills are now embedded into units of
competency, the summary should help inform the delivery and assessment
strategy for the unit and/ or qualification.
