Work in the Child Care field is both demanding and rewarding. Those seeking careers in Child Care should enjoy being with children. Desirable qualities for this work are patience, understanding, imagination, cheerfulness, energy, adaptability and a willingness to take responsibility. Child Care workers must also be physically fit as they are on their feet a good deal of the time, are often required to lift and carry children and must be able to provide care that is active, adequate and efficient.
