Fast>>Track Testimonials
I didn’t want to commit myself to a long, drawn-out, part time course. I had the experience but did not have the paperwork, so to be able to get formal qualifications in a short period of time was a big selling point for me. With work and home obligations, completing it in six months most certainly suited my particular needs.
Brownyn Gibbs – CEO, Outer East Employment Service, VIC
The course was very practical. You would the read the material (books or articles) on a particular topic and you could talk about it and see how it fits within your current organisation. My previous academic degrees (MBA and Masters in Management) were more focused on the theories. I believe that I got more out of this course than my previous degrees because the Advanced Diploma focuses on practical examples and, through the major project, encourages you to apply these learnings straight away in your workplace.
Aline Frantzen – Yarra Trams, VIC
One of the best aspects of the course was learning from the experiences of others around me – the sharing and networking with those participating in the course and growing together as you studied with them was very beneficial.
Jim Gauld, Managing Director, Jim Gauld Building Company, NSW
The most important thing I learned was the ability to visualise the interaction of management within a company and how to work with it, depending on what you are trying to achieve. Before, I saw a business model in black and white; now I can see all the interactions and how poor business strategies can be improved so that you can achieve better results It’s given me the ability to be able to work out the weak links in the chain.
Andrew Ridge, Senior Consultant, Oracle, NSW
The most important benefit of the course, for me, was theself-confidence I gained from achieving a qualification which formally recognises what I had learned through on-the-job experience and the work I had put into finishing this qualification.
Jamie Eckett, Manager Group Development, Bendigo Bank, VIC
I have been in a management role for more than six years and have been through three acquisitions and integrations in that time. Already my level of recognition within the company has improved since the course. One of my goals was to move out of operational thinking mode to more strategic thinking and this has certainly improved. As a result I have been offered two promotions since I completed the course.
Rebecca Alexander, Manager, Origin Energy, SA
The most important outcome for me was the confidence the course gave me. At the time I started the course, I was running the business. During the first workshop, I stood up and said I would like to go out on my own. Fast>>Track pushed me in the right direction, and gave me the confidence to bite the bullet and go into my own business. I am now in partnership with the original owner of the business. There is no way I would have had the confidence to do that without the course – to be in the business rather than just working for the business.
Brett Williamson, Manager, Pneumatic Equipment Repairs Sales & Service, NSW
In a small business you are ‘it’ so you tend not to have anyone to talk with about day-to-day business. The networking with other people who were working in different businesses and experiencing different challenges was very valuable. I was also able to advise people on things I had come across and how I handled them as well as getting that from others, for example, how to handle a sales force that is not performing.
Ken Girdlestone, General Manager, Premier Plastics, VIC
The course was excellent. It gave me the opportunity, through the education process and the depth of the material, to review how my management style required to be adapted and to look at how I deal with individual relationships. It also gave me the opportunity to work on myself and review my position, to see if I was going in the direction that was best suited to my needs, and my family’s needs, and if I was best suited for my current position. Since completing the course, I have been short-listed for promotion to the position of Operations Manager in WA. This takes on-board Western Australia, the Northern Territory and South Australia.
Stephen McManus, Regional Manager, Transfield Services, WA
As a non-profit company with a long history, we have traditionally had managers with good professional knowledge but only haphazard understanding of sound management skills. Nine staff undertook the Fast>>Track Diploma and the impact on the organisation has been profound. I would recommend the program highly for both young aspiring staff with professional qualifications, as well as for experienced senior staff who could benefit from a re-energisation and refocus in their current positions.
