	The national team has been involved in the Continuous Learning & Improvement (CLIP) Program developed by the Dusseldorp Skills Forum for use by WorldSkills Australia to assist National competitors to prepare for a "personal best" performance and to help develop key skills that will assist competitors to succeed in their chosen career. This year, each competitor was assigned a training mentor and with the support of their teachers, their employers and team leaders they are set to win the gold! 	WorldSkills Update 9th July 2008 The 17 competitors and 4 Team Leaders - Team Ballarat/Wimmera left this morning (10th July) bound for the Worldskills National Competitions at Darling Harbour Convention Centre in Sydney. Over the next three days the 17 competitors will be testing their VET skills against the best in Australia - Gold medalists will be eligible to compete in the International Competitions next year in Canada. The Team has been in training for the past nine months under the tutelage of their mentors - many of whom are UB TAFE teachers. WorldSkills Update 11th July - From Andrew Dower (Sydney) The team arrived safe & well with many comments made about how sharp and professional they look. It's very evident that they have been prepared very well - many of the other teams have only met all their members for the first time at the airport. Spirits are very high and they are all supporting and encouraging each other. The Team leaders are sure we are going to come back with Gold everywhere!! Monday 14th July - - From Andrew Dower (Sydney) The Competition is finished with the whole team feeling great about the experience. Each one has expressed their appreciation for all the coaching and chances for the honing of their skills. It was very evident to all how well prepared the team was. All the pressure welds held...Ben Dean was able to get his Board live an hour before the next competitor (not quite sure what all that actually means but sounds wonderful) The Team has spent today relaxing (after three full on days of competitions & one BIG night out) and are getting ready for the Award ceremony tonight....we will keep you posted. Tuesday 15th - From Trudy Cunningham (Ballarat) Waiting for the troops to get home so we can hear the final tally. At the moment it is as follows: Cameron Maher...Gold in VETIS Electrotechnology Ben Dean... Gold in Electrical Control Karla Preston...Silver in Beauty Care Charlene Tjoe...Silver in Business Services Ash Hamilton... Bronze in Fitting Tues 15th July - Our brightest stars are home (Ballarat - 5.15pm) Final Tally - They are all winners in our eyes!
