The original Ballarat School of Mines was founded in 1871 to provide quality education and leadership in Science, Engineering and Technology for our region. We have grown from a small group with only three staff members into the School of Science and Engineering, one of the most exciting centres in Australia for learning, teaching and research. I hope you become part of science and engineering as a student, alumnus, researcher and colleague.
UB is proud of its experienced and enthusiastic staff who are committed to providing the best possible education in an impressive array of disciplines including: Biomedical Science, Environmental Management, Food Science and Technology, Geology, Metallurgy, Occupational Health and Safety, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Mining Engineering. The University is justly proud of its achievements and the quality of its graduates over the past 137 years. Our links back to The School of Mines days are still strong, with impressive industry partnerships and training specific to the Mining Industry, but we have grown to be a modern provider of Science, Engineering and Technology (SET) education reflect of the needs of our environment.
Our programs, undergraduate, postgraduate and professional, open the door to a wide range of opportunities not only in Australia but Worldwide. We can partner you in your career path directly linked to the productivity, sustainability and equity of both our local and the global environment.
