"Sustainable development is a simple idea of ensuring, through new lifestyles, a better quality of life for everyone, now & for generations to come"
(UNESCO, 2001)

Welcome to the Educating for a Sustainable Future Website.

With an increasing emphasis on environmental issues in society today, there is a need to provide models and examples of how our daily activities can find a balance between environmental, social and economic concerns.

The purpose of this website is to provide practical examples of how environmentally sustainable practices can be successfully embraced by schools, businesses, industry and local government.

A TreeThe practices are presented here as:

  • 25 case studies, and
  • BASIC! Worksheets (Be A Sustainable Individual & Community!), designed for individual or classroom use.

The cases and BASIC!s are designed to be interactive, with plenty of photos, videos and activities. They give plenty of clues on how YOU can be environmentally sustainable.

How much can you do in your own part of the world!
