Troy Severino - Implementation Manager

Troy is responsible for delivery of the project within agreed timeframes. He is responsible for planning and execution of the project and reporting the project status to the Steering Committee. Troy also manages risks and issues associated with the project and has task management responsibility for University staff working on the configuration of the system.

Keli MacRae - Change Manager

Keli will lead the change management activities of the project. This will involve communicating the impacts and consequences of the project to the University community, ensuring stakeholder engagement and providing strategic assistance to impacted areas on changed business processes. Keli will also be responsible for the development of training programs for the University, ensuring that system users are trained appropriately before the system is deployed.

Kim Davidson - Systems, Learning & Training Coordinator

Kim is responsible for determining the training needs and requirements for the new student information management system. Kim will develop the training strategy for the new system which will outline the training objectives and delivery methods that will effectively prepare staff and students for the implementation of the new system. Training is a key component of the change management strategy which will support staff and students during the transition between the old and new systems.

Helen Sutton - Senior Business Analyst

The Senior Analyst (Applications) is responsible for the oversight of the analysis, design and preparation of specifications for the Student Information Management Systems (SIMS) by:

  • Analysing business needs and processes for student management within the University, and providing advice on business processes and business process re-engineering;
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of the specified functionality for the student management system for the Higher Education Division of the University;
  • Redesign of business processes for the student system to meet the strategic and administrative needs of the University.

Andrew Segrott - Technical Resources Manager

Andrew is the Technical Lead responsible for the team of developers, system administrators and database administrators providing development, implementation, deployment and production support to the system.

Yasna Macola - Testing Manager

As the Testing Manager, Yasna will manage and provide oversight to all the testing activities for the SIMS project. In her role she will:

  • Create a test strategy to plan and implement the testing phases of the project including, functional, integration, user acceptance, stress and performance testing;
  • Develop, document, design, and evaluate test processes to implement a UB project wide testing approach;
  • Train relevant staff on Testing processes;
  • Liase with the development team and project leader to communicate test findings and coordinate test approval for go/no go decisions prior to a production release.

Chris Andrews - Senior Analyst (Data Conversion & Integration)

Chris is responsible for analysing existing data in current administrative systems and for the conversion process to populate the SIMS system with current and historical student data.

Richard Webber - Curriculum Analyst

Richard's main role within the project is to liaise with academic and administrative staff to ensure that the delivered system correctly encodes the many different courses that the University offers, and how students can enrol in and progress through the units that make up these courses.

Michelle Nesci - Business Analyst Student Recruitment and Admissions

Michelle is a graduate of UB and her role in the project is as Business Analyst for Recruitment and Admissions. She will cover the student life-cycle from prospective student to the point where the student is accepted into a University program (course).

Kathryn McNamara - Business Analyst Financials

Kathryn's responsibilities within the project are to:

  • Gather financial information about Student Fees from Finance key stakeholders;
  • Analyse and utilise the information, where appropriate, to contribute to the configuration of the PeopleSoft Financial System;
  • Take actions to resolve gaps and issues identified by the key stakeholders;
  • Ensure the configuration of PeopleSoft Financial System embraces, enhances and improves the processes and policies of the University of Ballarat’s vision to provide a dynamic and robust system to the students and academic community.

Nick Balkin - Conversion Analyst

Nick's role in the Project is Conversion Analyst. Nick will be looking at mapping the migration of data from our varied existing systems to Campus Solutions. This will involve data cleansing and fixing as required, along with some configuration of the system.

Shahnaz Kouhbor - Test Analyst

Shahnaz's role as Test Analyst with the Project Office Test Team will be to understand, document and execute tests related to various areas of Campus Solutions, but her primary focus will be on Student Financials. Shahnaz will also focus on becoming an expert in the recently acquired automated software testing tool, Quality Centre from Hewlett Packard.

Robert Hepburn - Test Analyst

Robert's role as a Test Analyst, and with his previous testing experience, will assist him in understanding, documenting and performing testing related tasks for the area of Student Records in Campus Solutions, amongst other testing activities related to the automated testing tool, Quality Centre.

Natalie Burdett - Test Analyst

Natalie’s role as a Test Analyst with the Project Office Test Team will be to understand, document and execute testing tasks related to Enrolments and Admissions in Campus Solutions, as well as becoming familiar with Campus Community and documenting testing activities for this area. She will also become proficient in the automated testing tool Quality Centre.

Phil Otieno Oduor - Testing Officer

Phil’s role as a Testing Officer will be to assist the Testing Analysts by verifying and validating new and changed functionality and executing tests. He will then test systems and functions to ensure fitness for purpose. He will also become proficient in the automated testing tool Quality Centre.
