Borrowing and membership - Information for partner institution studentsWhat do we mean by 'partner institution'?The University has developed partnerships with a number of institutions nationally and internationally; sharing facilities, resources and teaching staff. The information provided below relates to the following partner institutions:
How do partner institution students obtain Library materials?Students need a UB student card in order to request books. If you do not have a UB student card, please contact your partner institution. You are welcome to visit any of the UB campus libraries in person to access and borrow material. You can also use the UB Library catalogue to request library items for delivery to your home institution. To do this:
If you have difficulty requesting material, please email the Library, or phone the Information desk on (03) 5327 9594. Materials that can be requested include: Materials that cannot be requested include:
What happens once I've requested an item ?Requested items that are listed as available on the catalogue will be processed and posted daily. Items that display as unavailable in the catalogue, for example on holdshelf, on loan and in processing, will be processed and posted once the item becomes available. Items may be picked up from the administration office at your home institution. Please return items here also, at least three days prior to the item's due date to allow for transit. Items are available for a 4 week loan period. Please note that transit of the item is included in the borrowing timeframe. This means that the item will be listed as on loan to you from the time of processing by library staff until its return to the UB Library. It may be possible to extend the loan period on your items. Do this online via myLibrary@UB. More information about renewing items is available at the Borrowing and membership homepage. Please note: UB Library correspondence is conducted via UB's student email service. It is important to check your student email account regularly, as this is where you will be sent information regarding your requests, reminder notices and overdues. |
