Borrowing from other libraries

Eligble UB staff and students can obtain materials from other libraries. If you are a student at a UB Partner Provider institution, please contact the International Student Support Librarian for information about borrowing from other libraries.

Please note: if you have overdue items at another institution's library, it could also impact on your entitlement to borrow at UB Library.

BONUS+

BONUS+ is a union catalogue that greatly increases access to books for all UB students and staff. Requested items are posted to your nominated campus library. For full details of about participating libraries, borrowing rights and restrictions, and requesting processes, please see the BONUS+ website.

CAVAL reciprocal borrowing program (Victoria)

CAVAL reciprocal borrowing program is a free Victorian borrowing program allowing students and staff of participating libraries to borrow material from other Victorian academic and TAFE libraries. You should obtain a CAVAL card from the Loans Desk at your local campus library prior to visiting another participating library. Once at another library you will have to register with that institution in order to borrow. Visit the CAVAL website for the full list of participating institutions, as well as terms and conditions.

Australia-wide reciprocal borrowing schemes

You need to produce your UB staff or student ID card and proof of current enrolment at the host library to register for:

  • TAFE Libraries National Reciprocal Borrowing Scheme (TAFE NRBS), which allows students and staff of all TAFE institutions to register and borrow materials in person from any other host TAFE library in any other state.
  • University Library Australia (ULA), which is a national borrowing scheme that allows students and staff to borrow in person from any participating interstate university in Australia.

Document Delivery

Our Document Delivery service is available to UB postgraduate students and staff who require access to materials that are held by other libraries in Australia or overseas.
