When you receive an offer of a place in a Higher Education program at UB, you have three choices:
Deferment means you can postpone commencing your studies but still have your place held for up to one year. Deferment from an Higher Education program may be granted for a period of up to 12 months by the University of Ballarat. Deferral of only 6 months may be possible in some cases.
For entry in 2012, applicants may not defer their place in the following programs:
Follow the instructions in your letter of offer; deferral applications are made online choosing the option 'I defer Admission'. Do not choose the option to accept your offer. Any queries should be directed to the Admissions Office at admissions@ballarat.edu.au.
Deferment is available to new students who have not yet enrolled at the University of Ballarat. New students who have already enrolled at UB should contact the Admissions office at admissions@ballarat.edu.au.
Current students of UB should refer to the University Handbook regarding leave from all studies.
Should deferral be granted, you will receive written confirmation within 10 days of making the online application. Any queries should be directed to the Admissions office as above.
The Admissions Office will contact you during September and October, inviting you to take up your deferred place and commence studies in the New Year.
If you are a TAFE applicant please contact the relevant office for your course.
