Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of the proposed commencement of their studies in the University.
The table below outlines the basic entry requirements required for international students to be admitted to the University of Ballarat:
| Technical & Further Education (TAFE) |

Some courses require particular subjects at Year 12, or have other (for example work experience) requirements
Certificate II and III have lower requirements.
|
| Higher Education - Undergraduate |
Students are assessed competitively on the basis of Australian Year 12, or overseas
equivalent school qualifications:
- Some courses require additional procedures such as interviews and/or auditions.
- Students with post-school qualifications (e.g. Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas) may be
considered for admission with advanced standing or credit (recognition of prior learning).
- The amount of advanced standing will not normally exceed more than half of the University
of Ballarat course concerned.
- Other Information: overseas examinations, and minimum grades generally accepted for
academic admission into undergraduate courses.
|
| Higher Education - Postgraduate |
Entry requirements vary from course to course, but generally require completion of a
first degree from a recognised university with specified minimum grades (or marks) in relevant
subjects. A period of work experience, following graduation, may also be required for some
professional courses.
Details of the University’s postgraduate admission requirements for particular courses are
