Environmental Sustainability - 6 Star Rating

The design and construction of Elsworth Street has been facilitated in such a way to reduce the consumption of new materials, water and energy. Energy and water conservation measures have been identified within the design to make Elsworth Street a "Water Wise Community". We have also utilised more environmentally suitable building materials suring construction. During the design process consideration was given to reduce the impact of the complex by:
· Reducing Greenhouse emissions
· Using passive solar design
· Maximising the use of natural daylight and ventilation
· Minimising heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer
· Minimising the wasteful use of drinking-quality water
· Reducing peak storm water discharge
· Minimising the use of materials from scarce or environmentally sensitive resources
· Reusing and recycling materials
· Design a complex that works with, not against the natural features of the landscape.
