New Alliance in Lean (Competitive) Manufacturing
As Australia’s manufacturing sector wrestles with the challenges of endeavouring to remain competitive within a global environment, the University of Ballarat (UB) has forged a dynamic alliance with Complete Lean Solutions (CLS), to facilitate the supply of training and consultancy services around Lean Manufacturing.
And this alliance is proving to be very popular with astute leaders of manufacturing enterprises. For example, the UB has established an Agreement with Masterfoods, Wodonga, for the training of 60 Team Leaders and Supervisors in the values, behaviours and tools associated with Lean Manufacturing.
Carla Reading, Head of School-Manufacturing Services, is very positive and upbeat about the commercial relationship with CLS. ‘Consultants such as Andy Kelsall and Richard Pounder have received a wonderful grounding from Toyota in Lean. Their combined experience with Toyota in Europe, over virtually a decade, in a variety of Lean centred roles is incredibly powerful.’ And the capability and experience in Lean is not just confined to Andy and Richard, as CLS has access to a range of specialists, all with a Toyota background.
UB is currently marketing the UB/CLS alliance on a national basis and has been delighted with the level of interest and enquiry from representatives of a diverse range of manufacturing enterprises.
