Health informatics

Electronic messaging is increasingly being used to transfer health information between the medical profession, hospitals networks and other health care facilities. A key requirement is that messages conform to standards designed to enable interoperability between different databases and information systems. The Collaborative Centre for eHealth (CCeH), within the Centre for Informatics and Applied Optimization (CIAO), assists the health industry to implement HL7 compliant electronic messaging.

Training needs analysis can be undertaken to support the design work offered by our expert educators.

The Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety provides multi-disciplinary frameworks on which to build health and safety knowledge and experience. The course does not attempt to provide detailed coverage of all aspects of health and safety. Rather, the aim is to produce self-directed learners, who have the necessary skills to tackle new issues in health and safety, as and when they arise. Course participants will be given a basic understanding of a broad range of contemporary health and safety issues and related control strategies. A Graduate Certificate and a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Hazard Management are also available.

VIOSH Australia’s research activities are focused on reducing the incidence of injury and risk through the application of OHS solutions to the workplace and are typically achieved through partnerships with industry.
