
Most computer labs are open between 8:00am and 5:30pm Monday to Friday. Students can access the labs during this time if the room is not booked for classes.
Labs are locked at 5:30pm Monday to Friday and are locked during the weekend. After hours access labs are locked automatically.
Students who are in the lab after 5:30pm must have a current Student ID card in order to remain in the lab. You are required to present your Student ID card to security officers when in the labs after hours.
After hours access is only available in the labs with 24 hour access.
Reporting FaultsAll computer faults should be reported to the ICT Service Desk.
Technicians do not check labs, so please report faults via the Service Desk - notes left in the labs or on computers will not be seen.
Lab EquipmentEach lab has specific types of equipment that can be used. When a room is booked, the equipment located in the labs is available for your use.
Labs in the F building (F302, F303, F304) at Mt Helen are equipped with teaching computers. Teaching computers have a full student image but do not include a DVD/VCR unit.
All other general labs are equipped with projectors.
Student Lab SoftwareThe University of Ballarat provides student access to numerous computing labs at its various campuses. All computers run Windows 7. Students have access to specific software through the University's software licensing contracts.
The Mt Helen and SMB Library and Open Spaces have a basic set of software. This ensures students that want to just use standard word processing or browsing applications can have faster start up times and improved computer performance.
Some students will have additional applications that are supplied and supported by their school. For enquiries about these applications, please contact your school.

Lab LocationsThe University of Ballarat provides student access to numerous computing labs at it's various campuses. There are also some Open Access areas in the Libraries and other locations.
