Deferring your offer
Deferment means you can postpone commencing your studies but still have your place held for up to one year.
Deferment from an Academic Program is granted for a period of up to 12 months by the University of Ballarat, before a student, who has been offered a place in a higher education program, enrols in that program.
Have you already enrolled?
Deferment is available to new students who have not yet enrolled at the University of Ballarat. New students who have already enrolled at UB and current students of UB are should not use the online 2010 Application to Defer form and should refer to the University Handbook regarding Leave From All Studies.
Please contact your School if you have already accepted your offer and wish to take Leave From All Studies for 2010.
How to request deferment
To defer you must complete the online '2010 Application to Defer'.
If you choose to defer, please ensure you complete these steps:
1. Accept your offer online via my Student Centre; AND
2. Complete the online '2010 Application to Defer'.
Notification
Upon completion of the online application, you will receive email confirmation that your request has been received. You will receive written confirmation of the outcome of your application. If you do not receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of submitting your application, please contact the University on 1800 811 711.
Returning from deferment
You will be invited in writing in September 2010 by Admissions to take up your deferred place.
