Students who have completed all course requirements may be eligible to graduate and have their certificate or diploma awarded to them, either at a Graduation Ceremony or 'In Absentia" (i.e. you don't attend a ceremony). Eligible students will receive an invitation to graduate.
It is your responsibility to apply for a University sealed certificate when you believe you have completed the requirements of your course. An Application For University Sealed Certificate (pdf 201kb) must be submitted by the application close date, as shown in, 'Ceremony dates & times', to be invited to participate in a graduation.
On receipt of your application for a university sealed certificate and verification by your school that you have completed all requirements of the course, you will be invited to a graduation ceremony. You must return the Graduation Details form sent to you with this invitation by the dates shown on form.
You can download an Application for University Sealed Certificate (pdf 201kb) form or you can collect one from the Student Centre at any TAFE campus.
The fee to graduate, if you choose to attend a TAFE ceremony in Victoria, is $80.00 (including GST). The fee to graduate In Absentia varies according to postage costs. To have your testamur/certificate sent with in Australia, the fee is $20.00AUD or to have your testamur/certificate sent to an overseas address, the fee is $60.00AUD. (This fee covers one way postage and handling costs.) Testamur/certificates will be posted by registered mail after the ceremony date.
Payment must be forwarded with the completed Graduation Details form and can be made by cash (in person) cheque, money order, Visa, MasterCard or Bankcard.
No payment is required for those students not wishing to attend a ceremony, and who wish to collect their testamur/certificate in person, ie. In Absentia. Eligible students graduating In Absentia are conferred at their school's ceremony. Testamur/certificates are then available for collection from the SMB or Horsham Student Centre, after the ceremony date.
