Lap lane swimming

Have you got black line fever? Come and enjoy the superior water quality of the University of Ballarat's aquatic facility. With eight lanes heated to 28 degrees, UniSports swimming pool is ideal for both the recreational swimmer and the serious lap swimmer.

Lap lane availability is subject to bookings and events. UniSports-qualified lifeguards supervise the swimming pool to ensure maximum safety and fun, however children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult aged at least 16 years at all times while in the aquatic area. Children under three need to have an adult aged at least 16 in the water with them at all times.

We look forward to seeing you at the swimming pool, keeping fit, improving your technique and enjoying the wonderful facility.

Lane hire

UniSports offers competitive rates for lane hire. Whether it be a few friends swimming laps, or a football team wishing to do a training session, UniSports can accommodate the needs of the group.

The University of Ballarat swimming pool is also equipped with two underwater filming tanks. This is perfect for swimming squads who wish to analyse swimmers technique, from both a side on view, and a front on view. These tanks are available for group use if arranged prior to your booking.

Water aerobics

Water aerobics is an excellent way to get fit and healthy. It improves your flexibility, agility, strength and balance and is a great cardio workout for burning those kilojoules.

Classes cater for all levels of fitness. Low to medium intensity water aerobics is recommended for a general fitness workout for those people just getting back into exercise, pregnant women and those suffering from asthma, arthritis and other degenerative diseases.

High intensity water aerobics is terrific as it provides a fast paced workout. It is also great for athletes as a recovery session or training alternative as there is no jarring of the joints.

The best part of water aerobics is that you work at the intensity you wish to work at! Water Aerobics is a great way to meet new people and spend your lunch hour!!
