Individual staff members are encouraged to conduct research as part of the delivery of their unit. In 2007, one lecturer initiated a mentoring program within the unit to offer support to students who had previously found the unit difficult. An evaluation of this innovation is currently underway.

If any staff would like to conduct research into their learning and teaching practices with their students, please ensure that you comply with the requirements of the Ethics Committee (see www.ballarat.edu.au/ard/ubresearch/hdrs/ethics/humanethics/index.shtml for further information).

Working Papers

The major aim of this online series is to present work-in-progress being conducted by members of the School of Business for the purpose of encouraging a supportive and productive research culture in the area of learning and teaching. This series is designed to assist the authors to refine their ideas, methods and analysis through collegial feedback from colleagues. We encourage readers of these papers to contact the authors with comments and suggestions for further research.

Submissions of working papers in the area of learning and teaching are welcome at any time. Please forward these to Jill Don in Room B125 or via email to j.don@ballarat.edu.au.

If you would like any further information please contact Jill Don on 5327 6147.
