Researchers within the Humanities and Social Sciences discipline are commited to excellence and innovation within their areas of interest and aim to expand the knowledge base within the university and broaden individual understanding.
The HSS Research Group was formed in order to consolidate and
coordinate the research efforts of individuals and small groups of
academic staff and students working in the Humanities and Social
Sciences. It was conceived as an umbrella for previous existing
groups such as the CCCE (Centre for Contemporary Cultural
Enquiry) and the ASC (Australian Studies Centre), but also to
provide opportunities for collaboration and cooperation more
widely, to set up a staff/student seminar series, and generally to
raise awareness of, and provide opportunities to share, the
considerable amount of otherwise randomly-recognized research
work.
Note - Individual staff research interests can be discovered by browsing the Staff pages.
