2006 STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL ELECTIONS
The University of Ballarat TAFE Student Association Inc. (UOBTSA) provides a critical representative voice for TAFE students at the University of Ballarat. The UOBTSA is governed by the Student Representative Council (SRC) who are elected student representatives and supported by professional and committed staff in the provision of relevant services for all TAFE students at the University of Ballarat
Opportunities exist for all students to become involved in UOBTSA in a variety of areas - through Student Representation, Activities and Events, Leagues and the Student Magazine.
WHAT IS A SRC?
The Student Representative Committee (SRC) are the group of students that make the decisions on behalf of all student about the services, events, activities, budgets and representation for the University of Ballarat TAFE Student Association Inc.
The SRC consists of up to 16 students from SMB, Camp St (TAFE only), Horsham, Stawell and Ararat campuses who meet on a fortnightly basis to discuss issues and ideas that have been presented to the committee. They are also the group responsible for authorising our magazine and events like band nights, trivia nights, bingo nights, free lunchtime BBQ’s and the services we provide through our offices at SMB and Horsham.
THE SRC IS LOOKING FOR STUDENTS WHO:
- Want to have their say on how the Student Association is run
- Are interested in organising events and actvities
- Would like to contribute to our magazine SCOPE
- Are interested in how our University’s money is spent
- Have ideas on what our University needs.
If you fit any or all of these points then you would be prefect for a nomination for the SRC. (Plus, it looks good on your resume!)
COME ON GET INVOLVED!
- To stand or norminate you must be a member of the Student Association.
- You and your nominators must also be current TAFE Division Students from the same campus.
- Specific positions on the SRC are voted for by the SRC when formed.
If you would like to join the 2006 SRC, fill out the nomination form and drop it in to the office at SMB or Horsham campus.
Nominations close 3rd March 2006.
