What is PORTIA?

Welcome to the web site for PORTIA which is provided by the Research and Graduate Studies Office

PORTIA (Postgraduate Research Training Information Assistant) is available to current and commencing higher degree by research (HRD) students, their supervisors and research degree managers/administrators from 2007. PORTIA will be piloted during Teaching period 3, 2007.

PORTIA is a web-based system and provides:

• up-to-date management information on higher degree by research (HDR) students
• a transparent system that allows candidates and supervisors to plan the research, record meetings and other important events related to candidature

Information which is entered onto the system by supervisors, HRD candidates and administrators can be viewed by others using the system. UB’s Confidentiality policy and procedures will relate to all information stored within PORTIA.
