Animal Ethics

Any work involving animals must be approved by the Animal Ethics Committee.

Projects should not commence without prior written approval from the University of Ballarat Animal Ethics Committee (AEC). The role of the AEC is to ensure ethical standards are maintained in research and teaching projects involving animals, in accordance with relevant Commonwealth, State and Territory legislation and the Australian Code of Practice for the Care and Use of Animals for Scientific Purposes in particular.

All applications must be signed by the relevant School Research Higher Degree and Ethics Co-ordinator (RHDE co-ordinator), and the original and required number of copies must be sent to the Research & Graduate Studies Office ten days prior to the meeting date. The original plus ten copies are required to be supplied by the researcher.
