Managing Digital Copyright Issues at UB

Information Services is responsible for management of digital copying and communication of third party copyright material across the University.

Information Services staff have developed a new online registration service that will centrally manage copyright issues, within the digital environment. Staff requiring any third party copyright material, chapters / extracts from books, journal articles, etc. to be digitised for student use, may now submit a request via the Ereserve form available on the Library home page. Upon receipt of the request staff will digitise the material and add the appropriate copyright notice and authentication process and provide a URL to the document This is an obligatory process under Part VB of the Copyright Act.

Links to this service are available from the Library website at http://www.ballarat.edu.au/aasp/is/library/collections/reserve/ and also via links from the Copyright website.

A PowerPoint presentation on the copyright requirements and Ereserve at UB is available from the Staff Copyright website at http://www.ballarat.edu.au/aasp/copyright/training.shtml
