VIOSH annually hosts a seminar addressing a contemporary OHS issue. This seminar coincides with
the annual courses and awards dinner. This year the title of the seminar is:
Does document control ensure risk control?
"Make sure you fill out that JSEA form and have it to your supervisor pronto!"
"More paperwork! How are we supposed to get anything done when we spend most of our time filling out forms?"
"I’ve got a stack of paper work to get through, I think I’ll be in for most of the weekend getting through it."
Do the documents on your desk ensure risk control?
The dreaded ‘P’word! Paperwork is a reality in every organisation. But how much is enough – how much is too much?
Hopefully, with out creating too much more paperwork, this seminar will explore paperwork. How much do we really need? Does it promote safer work environments and safer practices? Who is it there to protect? Does it really provide a robust legal defense for managers?
Our speakers will look at paperwork from different perspectives – exploring the research and practical evidence.
During the program there will be ample time for discussion with speakers and peers about the
topics presented.
This free seminar will be held at the Room F311, 1st Floor, Building F, Mount Helen Campus on
Wednesday 11th July 2006.

Hill historical park. This ceremony dinner will celebrate the success of our graduates. It is a
