Initial Level 5 day OHS Course
- for Health & Safety Representatives and Managers
The course is approved by WorkSafe Victoria for the training of workplace health and safety
representatives, supervisors, team leaders and managers. It can be delivered to corporate groups
within their own workplace.
The course format allows course participants to put into practice the theory
they have had presented to them in the course.
Key ideas in occupational health and safety are presented in an understandable way. The
workplace, in which participants undertake their projects, has a control strategy developed for a
real occupational health and safety problem. Course participants practice working collaboratively to find solutions to occupational health
and safety problems.
Course participants receive immediate, expert feedback from the lecturer on the quality of their
hazard identification, risk assessment, control and control evaluation strategies.
Learning Objectives
- Apply knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, codes and standard
- Identify, assess and control hazards present in the workplace or associated with occupations or tasks
- Investigate injuries, illnesses and incidents
- Communicate effectively with all parties involved in occupational health and safety
