Engineering Research

The engineering research group is actively involved in a number of applied projects in the area of sustainable resource engineering. These research activities often involve collaboration with other internal research groups and external local, national and international research organisations and industries. Research projects range from undergraduate BEngSci projects to postgraduate Masters and PhD projects.

Mining and Minerals Engineering

  • Fluids and ventilation
  • Rock and soil mechanics
  • Mineral processing
  • Mining methods
  • Mining safety

Civil and Environmental Engineering

  • Landfill Technology
  • Contaminated Soil and Sediment Remediation

Occupational Health and Safety

  • HSE systems and management
  • Noise hazards
  • Airborne contaminants

Projects are conducted through the Victorian Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (VIOSH).
