Centre for Environmental Management
The Centre for Environmental Management is an official University of Ballarat centre within the Institute of Rural and Regional Research and Innovation. It has established programs in environmental
teaching, research and consultancy over the past twenty years. Staff include
botanists, zoologists, ecologists, limnologists, palaeoecologists, land use planners, hydrogeologists, soil scientists and
geomorphologists. The Centre is a leader in the application of remote sensing,
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and computer technology to resource management.The Centre
and its personnel have been recognised through the awarding of numerous research
and consulncy contracts by Federal, State and Local government agencies,
and private sector industries.
