Student Scholarships

The School of Information Technology and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Ballarat has a variety of scholarships available to students commencing the following courses in 2009:

• Bachelor of Information Technology [VTAC Code 37941]
• Bachelor of Information Technology (Business Systems) [VTAC Code 37271]
• Bachelor of Information Technology (Computer Games) [VTAC Code 37061]
• Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences [VTAC Code 37111]
• Bachelor of Business Information Systems and Bachelor of Management [VTAC Code 37321]

These scholarships are available only to current Year 12 students or students who completed Year 12 studies previously.

If you apply for the ITS, WIT, ATSI or ITMS scholarships, are selected into one of the above courses and receive an ENTER of at least 75, you are guaranteed a scholarship of at least $1,400 for each of your three years of study.

Selection is based on your performance in VCE or equivalent.

$18,000 'Information Technology' Scholarships (ITS)

We offer six highly paid scholarships for men and women with an ENTER of at least 80 commencing the Bachelor of Information Technology, Bachelor of Information Technology (Business Systems), Bachelor of Information Technology (Computer Games), Bachelor of Business Information Systems and Bachelor of Management or Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences with the University of Ballarat in 2009. The scholarships are valued at $18,000, paid at $6,000 per annum over the three years of your course.

$18,000 'Women In IT' Scholarships (WIT)

We offer two lucrative scholarships for women with an ENTER of at least 80 commencing the Bachelor of Information Technology, Bachelor of Information Technology (Business Systems), Bachelor of Information Technology (Computer Games), Bachelor of Business Information Systems and Bachelor of Management or Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences with the University of Ballarat in 2009. The scholarships are valued at $18,000, paid at $6,000 per annum over the three years of your course. (Exemption, Equal Opportunity 1995 Application Number A185/2002).

We offer a scholarship for students of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent commencing the Bachelor of Information Technology, Bachelor of Information Technology (Business Systems), Bachelor of Information Technology (Computer Games), Bachelor of Business Information Systems and Bachelor of Management or Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences in 2009. The scholarship is valued at $18,000, paid at $6,000 per annum over the three years of your course.

$18,000 'Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander' Scholarships (ATSI)

We offer a scholarship for students of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent commencing the Bachelor of Information Technology, Bachelor of Information Technology (Business Systems), Bachelor of Information Technology (Computer Games), Bachelor of Business Information Systems and Bachelor of Management or Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences in 2009. The scholarship is valued at $18,000, paid at $6,000 per annum over the three years of your course.

$3,600 'ITMS' Scholarships

We are pleased to offer a number of ITMS Scholarships for those commencing the Bachelor of Information Technology, Bachelor of Information Technology (Business Systems), Bachelor of Information Technology (Computer Games), Bachelor of Business Information Systems and Bachelor of Management or Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences with the University of Ballarat in 2009. These scholarships are valued at $4,200, paid at $1,400 per annum over the three years of the course, and go to ALL STUDENTS who apply for the ITS, WIT, ATSI or ITMS scholarship, are selected into one of the above courses and receive an ENTER of at least 75.

TAFE Articulation Scholarships

We offer Articulation Scholarships for students who complete a Diploma of Information Technology with an Australian TAFE Institute, and articulate into the Bachelor of Information Technology, Bachelor of Information Technology (Business Systems), Bachelor of Information Technology (Computer Games), Bachelor of Business Information Systems and Bachelor of Management or Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences with the School of Information Technology and Mathematical Sciences (ITMS) at the Mt Helen campus.

These scholarships are approximately $1800, paid at $150.00 per unit of study, and will be awarded to ALL students who articulate from a TAFE Diploma of Information Technology into one of the above courses in 2009.
