The Collaborative Centre for eHealth (CCeH) is part of the School of Information Technology and Mathematical Sciences (ITMS) of the University of Ballarat. CCeH was formed in mid-2000 to focus on research and development in the application of electronic technologies for the delivery, access, education and coordination of healthcare in Australia. CCeH brings together the range of informatics initiatives in which the university schools and centres are involved, as well as collaboration amongst major regional and national stakeholders in the healthcare sector. The major focus of CCeH is on the current and future practical applications of communications technologies to information management, especially those related to the appropriate access to healthcare information by healthcare providers to better support individual patient care or community health. The Centre has been established to support the significant growth of healthcare projects and research that has been carried out by the University over the past three years. These projects have typically been closely aligned to the current recognised demands of the healthcare sector and the major healthcare policy stakeholders.
