Centres of research
The School of Business has developed two designated research centres - the Centre for Regional Innovation and Competitiveness (CRIC), and the Centre for eCommerce and Communications (CeCC).
Centre for Regional Innovation and Competitiveness
The Centre for Regional Innovation and Competitiveness (CRIC) is a designated research centre of the University and actively supports the University's regional research mission.
Central to CRIC's research focus is the nature of regional enterprises and regional growth models. This important policy focus is supported by the use of innovative methodologies in the valuation of resources and non-market goods, and the role of technology and knowledge transfer in regional development. All of CRIC's work is supported by its survey research unit, which has gained national recognition for its innovative approaches to collecting data.
CRIC's work has attracted significant funding from the Australian Research Council, the Federal government, State government and a range of other organisations.
Centre for eCommerce and Communications
Through research, knowledge transfer and commercial activities, the Centre for eCommerce and Communications (CeCC) promotes innovation through the application of new technologies.
CeCC was first established during 1998 to facilitate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) use and to promote the role of the internet through enhanced regional connections, partnership initiatives, and the application of ICT processes. Centre activities were primarily focused on supporting the practical application of ICT in a regional and rural context.
Today, CeCC actively pursues partnerships with industries, organisations, enterprises and communities with the aim of contributing to and enhancing technology application and knowledge transfer.
