Degree: DBA (submitted May 2005)
Title: Growth-Decline: rejuvenating and sustaining regional and rural communities
Overview: Research is needed to fill a very real gap in knowledge of the experience of Australian cities, towns, regions and communities in their attempts to combine economic and social development with the uptake of online technologies and information communication technology (ICT). This research will involve the presentation of a number of case studies to illustrate how regional and rural communities in a variety of contexts have developed and sustained community-based Internet services for socially and economically beneficial purposes. The project represents a major component of a professional doctorate program being undertaken with the support the Ararat Rural City, Wimmera Development Association, Hepburn Shire and AME Systems
Principal Supervisor: Professor Julian Lowe
