Collaborative research is an increasingly significant feature of research in the School of Business. With support from industry partners the School of Business has been able to generate remarkable improvements in research activity. Considerable success has, for example, been achieved in attracting nationally competitive grants with the majority supporting regional and rural research. Collaborative research with academics in other universities is recognised as another important aspect to the University of Ballarat goal of significantly raising our research profile. Grant Success Highlights

Since 2000 the School has won eight ARC Strategic Partnerships with Industry Research and Training Scheme (SPIRT) and Linkage grants.
Dr Steven McEachern and Prof Julian Lowe have secured an ARC LIEF (Infrastructure) grant, in conjunction with Deakin University.
The School has won other competitive grants from Grains Research and Development Corporation and the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation.
Research grants have also been attracted to support a number of applied research projects.
In both 2002 and 2003 the School of Business has scored the highest DEST points for publications in the University.
