The School of Business hosts one of only four University of Ballarat designated Research Centres:
Centre for Regional Innovation and Competitiveness
The Centre for Regional Innovation and Competitiveness (CRIC) is a funded centre within the School of Business that targets specific business research issues inferred by regional location and place. Key questions addressed by CRIC are:
- Why do some regional/rural communities thrive whilst others decline?
- What is the nature of a regional innovation system and how does it determine value added and value capture in regional economies?
- Are regional organisations, structures and systems different to elsewhere in the community and economy?
- What is the impact of 'place' on community and competitiveness in an increasingly 'connected' environment?
- How is regional economic and community development sustained?
