Occupational Health and Safety
Health and Safety Implementation Team (HSIT)
The role of the HSITs is to coordinate the compliance of the School, Directorate or Designated Work Group with University health and safety requirements and to coordinate health and safety improvements. In doing so, the teams must:
- coordinate the practical implementation of the Health and Safety Plans;
- monitor compliance with all aspects of health and safety legislation, policies and procedures;
- focus on the practical identification of hazards, and the elimination/reduction of risks in School's/Directorate's activities by conducting HIRAC reviews, monitoring the implementation of corrective actions after incidents, planning for local incidents and emergencies, etc.
