Rural Social Welfare Studies
There are two ways to become qualified to work in the field of Rural Social Welfare. The first is the Bachelor
of Arts (Rural Social Welfare) course which prepares graduates for
careers in a variety of welfare and social services in government and non-government
settings and is fully accredited by the Australian Institute of Welfare
and Community Workers. The course provides a basis for further post
graduate training or higher degrees with the possibility of specialization
in social science, or psychology in addition to welfare studies.
Students with the Bachelor of Arts (Rural Social Welfare) may add to the degree with post graduate study and become social workers, teachers or
psychologists in addition to achieving their welfare qualification and Bachelor of Arts.
The second is through the Graduate
Diploma of Rural Social Welfare which encourages Graduates to use their
previous studies to enhance their learning of welfare knowledge and skills
to become informed and skilful welfare practitioners. and training.
