Multi-Disciplinary Major
Description of Course Structure

In the first semester of first year, full time students
are required to take units comprising:
· HX501 Introduction to Social Inquiry and/or
· HX540 Knowledge and History
· HX541 Narrative and Text

In addition, students select:
· one or more basic level, designated units
from the multidisciplinary/disciplinary sequences listed below and/or
· one elective from other courses offered
at UB.

From the second semester of first year, students continue
to select units from one of the multidisciplinary/disciplinary majors.
Students are required to complete successfully at least 150 credit points
in at least one of the majors. The 150 credit points must include the prerequisite
introductory unit (Introduction to Social Inquiry and/or Narrative and
Text) plus a 30 credit point, advanced level, capstone program.
The balance of the credit points can be taken from:
· the other multidisciplinary / disciplinary
majors (providing the student has completed the relevant prerequisite introductory
unit), or
· electives from other UB recognised and
approved programs (a maximum of 60 credit points).
