The University of Ballarat is committed to enabling projects to be successfully completed through the adoption of a standards based project management framework.
A project is a temporary endeavour undertaken to create a unique product, service or result with a defined start and end date and a pre determined level of risk. The project end is reached when the objectives have been achieved or when the project is terminated because its objectives will not or cannot be met, or when the need for the project no longer exists. Projects can also have social, economic and environmental impacts which far outlast the projects themselves.
Projects with a risk rating of "medium" are required to adhere to the University's Project Management Framework. The Project Management Policy and Procedures are available through the UB Policy Database.
The Project Register is a central reporting and tracking tool for all physical and virtual projects being planned, conducted and completed within the University.
