Mr Darren Holland
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Support and Services) 
MBA, Grad. Dip. Ed. (Secondary); Grad. Dip. Comp. Sci., B App. Sci. (QUT).Darren Holland assumed the role of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Support and Services), for the University of Ballarat on March 16 2006.

Darren joined UB in October 2004 as Head of Information Services. Darren worked to cement the joint service culture of the ICT and Library groups within Information Services and made considerable gains in organisational engagement and fiscal management.
From 1995 until accepting that position, Darren worked in various roles at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). His most recent position was that of Manager, Technical Services in the Faculty of Information Technology. In this role, Darren led the faculty's teaching environment and technical support team, served as a member of the Faculty's Academic Board and led his team through significant change, particularly the embedding of a culture of continuous improvement and a formal service management framework. He held this position for eighteen months, at the same time completing his MBA, which focused on leadership, strategy and electronic business.
Before that, as Manager, Desktop Management and Integration at QUT, Darren coordinated over 100 IT support staff as well as embedding and managing organisational standards across a fleet of over 7000 desktops, integration of technology in to teaching activities and management of external contracts valued at more than $14 million.
Darren also worked in the Faculties of Business and Education at QUT., He is a trained secondary teacher and has tutored in the Schools of Information Systems, Accountancy, and Language and Literacy Education and worked as a research assistant in the School of Social, Business and Environmental Education earlier in his career.
