Good Stress or Bad Stress?

You need some stress in your life! Stress adds flavour, challenge and opportunity to life. Without stress life would be dull and unexciting. Good stress is motivating.

But too much stress for too long can seriously affect your physical and mental well being. It can diminish your self-esteem, reduce your academic results, affect your relationships, have a physical impact and create a cycle of self-blame and self-doubt.

Become alert to the signs that your stress levels are increasing and develop ways to manage and reduce your stress. The events themselves do not necessarily cause the stress. Rather it is what they mean to us that matters. What is relaxing to one person may be stressful to another. Public speaking is a good example of this - some people see it as routine, some enjoy it and others experience it as highly stressful.
