Scholarship Acceptance for Teaching Period 3 2008
The Ongoing Eligibility Assessment for Teaching Period 3 2008 will open on Monday 4 August until 5pm Monday 18 August 2008.
Current UB Equity & Financial Aid Scholarship holders will be notified by post regarding the Ongoing Eligibility Assessment. Your letter will
detail the steps you need to complete, in order to accept your scholarship for Teaching Period 3 2008 and receive your next scholarship payment.
You must complete the questions in the online Ongoing Eligibility Assessment(a link will be posted on this site), using the username and password
that will be mailed to you by 5pm on Monday 18 August 2008. You may be required to supply any supplementary documentary evidence; you must
provide this evidence by Friday 22 August 2008.
If you will be relinquishing your scholarship (eg you have graduated, transferred to another University etc), we ask that you indicate this to us
via the online Ongoing Eligibility Assessment.
If you do not receive your letter by 1 August 2008 please contact us on 03 5327 9503.
You will receive you Teaching Period 3 scholarship payment by October 13 2008, provided you are still eligible.
Ongoing eligibility requirements
As detailed in your initial letter of offer, recipients of UB Equity & Financial Aid Scholarships are required to provide personal information in order
to confirm their ongoing eligibility for the scholarship in each Scholarship Period each year. Should you not provide this information, we will be unable to
make a scholarship payment for that particular Scholarship Period. It is your responsibility to ensure that your correspondence
address is up to date with Student Administration (see below if you need to change your address), and to ensure you read your student email account.
The Ongoing Eligibility Assessment is essentially a check of:
* your current circumstances (including your income information) compared with the information you provided in your original scholarship application, or any subsequent amendment; and
* the basic eligibility criteria (such as socio-economic status, citizenship, Commonwealth supported place, study load, course type, etc).

How do I Confirm my Ongoing Eligibility?
You will be required to complete the online Ongoing Eligibility Assessment. The Ongoing Eligibility Assessment for Teaching Period 3 2008 will be
open on 4 August until 5pm 18 August 2008.
Am I a Full-Time or Part-Time Student?
Only full-time students are eligible for the scholarships (unless there are exceptional circumstances preventing them from studying full-time).
You must be a full-time student as at the first census date in Teaching Period 3 (31 August 2008).
Higher Education students: In order to be considered a full-time student, your Teaching Period 3, 2008 study load must be at
least 0.375 EFTSL (Equivalent Full-Time Student Load). To check your current enrolment and EFTSL, go to your Enrolment Statement. Under
"Higher Education Statements", select "Enrolment Statement".
TAFE students: You must be considered a full-time student by the Arts Academy in Semester 2 2008 (based on nominal student hours).

Steps to complete Ongoing Eligibility Assessment
- Go to the Ongoing Eligibility Assessment (a link will be posted here for the August 2008 eligibility check).
- Complete the form online by 5pm on 18 August 2008.
- Submit the form online.
- You may be required to provide supplementary documentary evidence if we need further information in order to assess your ongoing eligibility.
You must provide this evidence by 22 August 2008.
Do you receive a Centrelink payment?
If you are required to provide documentary evidence of your Centrelink payment, current Centrelink customers now have the option of allowing UB to
access your income information directly from Centrelink. This means that you will not need to provide us with a copy of your Centrelink Income Statement
(which means no lining up at Centrelink!). This authority is for the sole purpose of providing your eligibility for a UB scholarship, and is effective
only for the period you are a scholarship holder at UB. You also have the option of revoking this authorisation at any time, and you can request
copies of the Statements we have accessed at any time. The authorisation form can be accessed by completing the Ongoing Eligibility Assessment.
