Staff Consultative Committee (UBSCC)
Under the UB Union Collective Agreement 2006-2008 a Staff Consultative Committee has been set up to assist in implementation of the collective agreement and to provide a consultative forum on significant workplace issues.
The UBSCC will meet on a quarterly basis with a chair elected at each meeting for the ensuing four months. Dr Suzanne McLaren has been elected as the first chair.
Membership of the Committee consists of:-
4 management representatives
4 staff members nominated by the unions (2 NTEU, 1 LHMW, 1 AWU)
4 nominees elected by and from the elected staff pool, provided that at least one of those 4 is a person from the Western Campuses.
Elected Staff Pool
In accordance with the provisions of the University of Ballarat Union Collective Agreement, an election was held to form an elected staff pool of employees of the University of Ballarat. The elected staff pool provides four members of the University of Ballarat Staff Consultative Committee. The pool will meet as necessary and will also nominate staff members to serve on review committees forms to address matters relating to redundancy, misconduct, serious misconduct and management and underperformance.
