Welcome to Corporate Information Systems
The Corporate Information Systems (CIS) team designs, develops, manages, integrates and enhances databases and information systems
for the University and it’s customers.
Systems analysis is a major strength of the CIS team. We have extensive experience with a range of programming languages, database
engines and operating systems. We pride ourselves on personalised service to meet specific requirements.
The primary task of the CIS team is to manage the University's major and complex finance, personnel and student systems. These
are Oracle Databases and run on Unix systems. Maintenance of hardware (DEC Unix and VMS) is an important aspect of the CIS
team's work.
CIS also supports specialist database users to manage and enhance their stand-alone or local information systems. Additionally,
CIS provides support and documentation to assist in Project Management.
Student Management System (APTUS)
CIS is responsible for the design and implementation of the the University of Ballarat's student management system (APTUS).

University Associates and Contractors (UBASSOC)
CIS is responsible for the design and implementation of the University of Ballarat's non paid and pending staff and contractors system (UBASSOC)
which provides provisioning of resources.
