UB recognises that being treated unfairly can have damaging effects on students and staff

You can:
 Expect to be treated fairly and equally by others in the UB community.
 Expect to have your requests for flexibility treated fairly.
 Expect to have your concerns heard and dealt with fairly.
 Expect to be treated fairly if concerns are raised about your behaviours or actions.

At UB you can expect:

 not to be treated unfairly (discriminated against) because of your:

sex marital status gender identity pregnancy
sexual orientation breastfeeding lawful sexual activity status as a parent or carer
race age disability religious belief or activity
physical features political belief or activity medical record criminal record

 not to be harassed (made to feel intimidated, offended or humiliated) because of any of the above characteristics

 not to be subjected to sexual harassment

 to receive appropriate flexibility eg because of a disability or pregnancy, or for carer, religious or cultural responsibilities

 to have your concerns about discriminatory treatment or harassment dealt with promptly and fairly
